Last week, Congressman Clay Higgins made a shocking and heartless statement about Louisiana families who rely on SNAP benefits to feed their children and loved ones.
Instead of showing understanding for those struggling to make ends meet, he mocked and insulted them — suggesting that if people don’t have a month’s worth of food in their pantry, they should “stop smoking crack". That’s not leadership. That’s cruelty.
